Tuesday, April 15, 2008 9 pm PBS Television Stations Frontline presents "Sick Around the World". Television production examining health care around the world. The producers are expected to come to the same conclusion as the LWVUS Health Care Study of 1991.
Wednesday, April 16, 2008 7-9 pm Torrance Cultural Arts Center, Toyota Meeting Hall, 3301 Torrance Blvd., Torrance Torrance City Council Candidate Forum. All candidates for the Torrance City Council have been invited to attend this forum. There are 14 candidates for four open seats. Public invited to hear and present questions.
Thursday, May 01, 2008 7-9 pm Call for location LWVT Board Meeting. All members are invited to attend all meetings.
Monday, May 05, 2008     First Day to apply for absentee voter ballot by mail. Pertains to June election
Saturday, May 17, 2008 All weekend Sacramento, California LWV California Leadership Council. All members are encouraged to attend.
Monday, May 19, 2008     Last Day to Register to Vote. Pertains to June election
Tuesday, May 27, 2008     Last Day to apply for absentee voter ballot by mail. Pertains to June election
Saturday, May 31, 2008 8:30 - 11:30 am Marie Callendar's Restaurant, Torrance LWVT Annual Meeting. Breakfast and meeting, election of officers, and address by Rob Beste, Public Works Director, City of Torrance
Tuesday, June 03, 2008 7 am - 8 pm Your polling place Election Day. Election for congressional, state, county offices, propositions and Torrance City Council
Friday, June 13, 2008 Friday through Tuesday Portland, Oregon LWVUS Convention. Biennial Convention of the National League. Business sessions, workshops, speakers, tours - a great experience for all LWV members.
